While attending university Marilyn worked in auto sales at her parents’ dealership, Metzler Sales & Service. After graduation she sold payroll systems. Dissatisfied with sales positions, she accepted her mother’s advice, returned to UW-O and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science that led to a most successful IT career in both technical and managerial roles.
An excellent seamstress, Marilyn’s daughters fondly remember their home-made Halloween costumes while her sisters enjoyed partnering with her on larger sewing and quilting projects. Marilyn loved camping with her family and purchased a camper so she could share this pastime with her grandchildren. Marilyn’s favorite holiday was Thanksgiving where she provided large, wonderful meals to her dearly loved children and grandchildren that left many responding, “I’m never eating again” – until she presented the desserts.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at Eastbrook Church, 5353 N. Green Bay Ave in Milwaukee followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
