This week, we have been studying portions of Matthew 6 and corresponding New Testament passages that address core practices of the Christian faith: serving, prayer, fasting, and giving.
Each reading this week pointed us back to the fact that Jesus cares about our hearts above all else. Not how much we’re serving, but why we serve. Not how fancy our prayers are, but what our heart posture is. Not whether or not we fast, but what our motivation is behind it. Not how much we give, but the state of our heart as we do so.
