The New Moses

Building from Jesus’ great Sermon on the Plain (Luke 6:17-49) we begin to understand that Jesus comes in the tradition of the great teachers of Israel, even becoming a new Moses. He answers the questions of the religious leaders and pushes them into territory they do not understand:
- Luke 20:20-26 – paying taxes to Caesar
- Luke 20:27-40 – marriage in the resurrection
- Luke 20:41-44 – whose son is the messiah?
- Luke 20:45-47 – warning against the teachers of the law
