What are your responsibilities at Eastbrook?

In practical terms, my main role is to ensure that Sunday school is a joyful experience for the kids and families in preschool and K4. Using existing and vetted curriculum, I prep lessons and classrooms each week and distribute materials to our committed team of volunteer teachers and helpers. Speaking of volunteers, we are always looking for more (recruiting is a part of my job too, sorry)! In addition to being present and active behind the preschool counter each Sunday, I also coordinate special events and faith markers for families with children in this age group. Working closely with the rest of the NextGen team, I aim to provide a safe and nurturing space where each child can grow in the love and knowledge of our great God.

What do you love about what you do?

I love that this job is truly about introducing the little ones to Jesus. Children were clearly important to Jesus in the gospels, and they have always been dear to my heart as well. I’ve taught and mentored in secular contexts for a long time, and I’m just thankful for the opportunity to be able to explicitly share and model the gospel.

If I had a free afternoon, you would find me…reading a book with a nice hot drink of some kind!
