“We have been serving for about twenty years and have both been active in many roles. I (Sharon) have been able to use my nursing skills with patients, but also helped greet patients as a part of the HOSPITALITY TEAM. I now act as an advocate, recruiter, encourager, come alongside to nurture those interested in serving & we co-coordinate the monthly prayer meeting. Scott has served in his capacity as a Certified Respiratory Therapist as well as a board officer, and helped with logistics, fundraising, and pastoral care. Regardless of whatever role one is considering; know you are being invited into others’ lives during critical and difficult times and will be able to show and speak God’s love, while demonstrating medical and clinical excellence is a rare opportunity.”

“The neighbor of an Eastbrooker had family visiting from overseas and during their visit, a family member began having pretty significant health issues. Not knowing how to get affordable care, the neighbor mentioned it to our member. The member in turn let them know about the Bread of Healing Clinic and helped them schedule an appointment. The clinic was able to provide the care necessary and see the family member’s health stabilize. Later that week, the neighbor reached out to our member. They shared that not only was the medical need met, but that the clinic team provided them care they have never experienced. They said that the team took time to listen, took interest in their personal story, prayed with them, and provided a level of holistic care that left them feeling blessed and loved. This one visit has opened the door to a larger story and a deeper relationship.”
