“I believe in life everlasting.”

“I believe in life everlasting.”

This series walks through the Apostles Creed as a basic summary of our faith but also as a way to live our faith out with God in the world. Each weekend of this series will explore the biblical and theological roots of the Apostles Creed, while also providing specific spiritual practices and approaches to living out what we know as we ‘proclaim and embody’ the Creed in our daily lives.
This week focuses on the phrase, “I believe in life everlasting.”

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. This week we continue our series, “Living the Creed” by exploring this statement from the Apostles’ Creed: “I believe in life everlasting.” Begin your study in prayer by asking God to speak to you through His Word.
  2. Spend time listing out all the ideas that you have about what eternal life should be?
  3. Now, re-read the accounts in Genesis of life in the garden, Do these two align? What should you take away from your list, what should you add?
  4. Life today can throw us for a loop, but we are called to eternal life now, through knowing Christ. Name some ways that your community or yourself has shown you this eternal life?
  5. What are some ways in which you don’t exhibit eternal life?
  6. In light of the resurrected body and “life everlasting”, how can you we think about how our lives should reflect these truths today?
  7. What is one thing you learned or God is speaking to you about our everlasting life? If you’re in a small group, share that with one another. If you are on your own, write it down and share it with someone this week. Conclude your study in prayer.
