- We are in a series entitled, “Made for It,” which is an exploration of relationships in our lives. Before you begin your study, ask God to speak to you through the Scripture.
- In your group, share stories about your dating past. Chances are, you have funny stories, embarrassing stories, or maybe even painful stories.
- What are the mistakes or lessons you have learned in or through the process of dating?
- What are the dating challenges a follower of Christ faces in our culture?
- Read Matthew 12:46-50. If you were to view all people as your brothers and sisters, would that change how you relate, treat, and love them? Describe. How should that influence the way men and women date?
- There exists frustration by many singles as it relates to finding significance in the Church. Regardless of your marital status, do you feel there is validity to this feeling? And if so, what causes that frustration? What are some contributing factors?
- Have someone read Colossians 2:6-10 aloud for the group. What can you do to help change how single people feel about their place in the church?
- How does media impact dating in our culture? What are the challenges in the area of dating that men face? What are the challenges that women have to deal with?
- Read Proverbs 14:15. This verse should apply to all relationships we have in our life. If you gave thought to all your steps, how would your life be different?
- What can you, as a group, and what can we, as Eastbrook, do to encourage, validate, and support single people in our community?
