Romans 10:13-17: The Call, Belief and Proclamation, how can they hear without us?

Unpacking Romans 10:13-17

  1. The Promise of Salvation (Romans 10:13) A. “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
  2. The importance of Belief (Romans 10:14-15) A. “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed?”
  3. The Commission that God gave each one of us to Proclaim (Romans 10:15-17)
  4. Personal stories of how hearing the Gospel transformed lives.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. How can we reconcile the idea that people need to hear about Jesus in order to believe with the concept of God’s sovereignty in salvation?
  2. What are some practical ways we can participate in proclaiming the Gospel to those who haven’t heard?
  3. Reflect on your own faith journey. How did you come to believe in Jesus Christ, and were there individuals or events that played a significant role in that process?
  4. How can we ensure that we are effectively communicating the message of salvation to others in our daily lives?
  5. Discuss the concept of faith coming by hearing the Word of God. How can we encour- age people to engage with Scripture and hear God’s message?
  6. How might the truths from Romans 10:13-17 impact our sense of urgency in sharing the Gospel with others?
